Justice and Peace Group
Serving at the altar is one of the most meaningful ways young people can participate in the life of our parish. There’s a quiet dignity in lighting the candles, carrying the cross, or assisting the priest during Mass—moments that help deepen faith and build confidence in equal measure.
About
We meet regularly to discuss and respond to matters of justice, both in our local community and across the globe. Our focus is broad: from Care of Creation and environmental stewardship to current legislative issues like assisted dying bills, from poverty and inequality to human rights concerns. We don’t just talk—we pray, we educate ourselves, we write to politicians, we support campaigns, and we look for practical ways our parish can make a difference. Recent meetings have addressed issues that many find challenging, but that’s exactly why gathering as a community of faith matters: we can discern together how Catholic social teaching speaks to contemporary questions.
If you’ve ever read the news and thought “someone should do something,” or if you believe the Gospel calls us to active engagement with the world’s injustices, this group is for you. We welcome all perspectives and backgrounds—what matters is a willingness to learn, listen, and act according to our shared values.
