Children’s Liturgy

Home / Parish Club / Children’s Liturgy

Serving at the altar is one of the most meaningful ways young people can participate in the life of our parish. There’s a quiet dignity in lighting the candles, carrying the cross, or assisting the priest during Mass—moments that help deepen faith and build confidence in equal measure.

About

During Mass, children are invited to leave with our trained leaders for their own Liturgy of the Word. In a separate space, they hear the same Gospel reading as everyone else in church, but it’s presented in child-friendly language with stories, activities, and discussions pitched at their level. They return to their families before the Offertory, often buzzing with excitement about what they’ve learned. It’s amazing how much more children absorb when the message is tailored to their understanding.

If you have children of primary school age who attend Mass with you, Children’s Liturgy is a brilliant way to help them engage with their faith rather than just endure the hour. Parents often find that their children actually look forward to Mass once they’re part of Children’s Liturgy — and that makes Sunday mornings easier for everyone.
